i been trying to get myself a new puppy for almost two months but have had no luck in finding a breeder the dog i hoping for is a maltese terrier a wee bitch puppy preferably does anyone know of any good breeders
Hi, there's a Puppy Sales Register on the Kennel Club website - so you may be able to find a KC registered puppy by searching the register:
http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/436
There's also the Champdogs site which has lists of breeders (& all the contact details) of KC registered Maltese.
http://www.champdogs.co.uk/guided/all_maltese.html
Other places that you might try include the Pets 4 Homes site:
http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/pets4homes/home.nsf/PV?SearchView&Query=(FIELD%20TypeTX=Dogs)%20%20AND%20(FIELD%20BreedTX=Maltese%20Terrier)%20&start=1&count=10&SearchOrder=3&ExactMatch=True&SearchWV=FALSE&SearchFuzzy=FALSE&SearchMax=250
and ePupz:
http://www.epupz.co.uk/search/puppies_for_sale.asp?breed=Maltese+Terrier&area=all&st=1&Submit=Search+++
Though be wary because on these two sites you're likely to find a mixture of adverts - both KC registered & unregistered puppies, dogs or puppies & also cross breeds.
You have to register with ePupz to get the contact details - but this is free for all ads over five days old - if you want to respond to a current ad then there is a one-off fee of £4.99.
Good luck, hope you find a perfect little girl

I'd start with the American Kennel Club. Here is the breed standard: http://www.akc.org/breeds/maltese/index.cfm
This link also has a link to reputable breeders of the Maltese.
Parent Club: American Maltese Association, Inc.
Breeder Referral: Julie Phillips; EST (239) 549-4446
Breeder Directory: See Parent Club website - Breeders List
Regional Clubs: See Parent Club website - Member Clubs
Plus the list below says it's the MOST EXTENSIVE list of Maltese breeders - all organized by state.

There is no such thing as a Maltese Terrier…it is just…Maltese..

Ring the Kennel Club and ask them to send you a list of good dog breeders. They are very helpful but remember as Crufts Dog Show has just ended they will be very busy at the moment.
Good Luck with your Puppy when you get it!

Try the breed club - listed at the bottom of this page. They should know if there are any puppies around. Maltese aren't that numerous, so you may have to go on a waiting list. If you are in the UK, the correct name is Maltese, not Maltese Terrier.
