I was watching the Weisminster dog show and i noticed none of the Parson Russell Terriers had any markings on their backs. Only on the face. We have a pure bred Parsons with the familiar brown spot on its back. Does any body no why this is?
check your standard, but I'm fairly certain it's a bit like the great danes. 99.9% of the time, it's a brindle or a fawn in the ring-but blacks, blues, mantles and harlequins are just as acceptable.

They can have other spots, but it's most common for them not to. It just happened that none with spots made it to that part of the judging.
