Training Jack Russells

How can reduce the # of times my Jack Russell Terriers wake me up at night?

I have two JRT and they wake me up two to three times a night. I walk them at least two times a day, take their water away well before bedtime, but they still whine and bark at night (to be fed, for a drink, to go outside). I take them on a "mini" walk before bed to get the last bathroom breaks to try and get a full night's sleep. Help!!!

Dogs should always have access to fresh, clean water.

They whine because they know it will get a reaction from you. Are they crated? Try crating them in another room, and close the bedroom door if you have to so you can't hear them.

How about getting them their own room at night with food, newspaper on the floor for the potty and some water. Try putting a tv set in the room to keep them company…later take the tv set out….sometimes they just feel lonely and give excuses to get you to pay attention to them no matter what time it is…No spare room? The basement or bathroom should do the trick.
