Training Jack Russells

Do all pure jack russell terriers have their ears pointed down?

b/c I have one and always thought he was a purebreed but he has his ears pointed up and whenever I see one live or in a picture their ears are always pointing down!

It doesn't really matter just wondering but if you know the answer then thanks!

I myself have a JRT/mix, she is 10 mos old. Yes JRT's can be born w/what they call prick ears. unfortunately, they could never be a show dog. Also, Tails, most are docked, but in the UK, they don't believe in tail docking, what the JRT is born with stays…but just cause of the ears does not mean that it is a mix..

Jack Russell Terriers ears are down, I have never seen any of them cropped and up…every picture in books, and all the ones at dog shows, ears are down……..if your dogs ears are straight up to a point, then he may not be a purebreed, or someone had his ears done before you got him…

but take a look at http://www.americankennelclub.com

all ears are down, is the standard
