is it true to get the dogs that small they induce a normal jack russells pregency early.
No, they breed dogs smaller than the standard to other smaller than standard dogs which generally results in small, sickly pups that people pay a fortune for.

You do not have a teacup Jack Russell, you have a very small Jack Russell. Dogs sold as "teacups" come from unscrupulous breeders who breed from stock which is small due to bad upbringing or simply because they do not meet the standard size. They are then sold to the unsuspecting public as something special.
I've never heard about inducing whelping - I doubt it, it would mean too much hard work to ensure the pups survived. It's not possible to tell exactly when pups should be born so early induction would mean the whole litter would die.

no, not even a little bit true, to get dogs that small, they breed the runt to the runt, even though it is very dangerous for the dogs.
Sorry guy, but you don't have a teacup anything…you have a runt. Teacup is a word breeders use to draw in people who are looking for small dogs, haven't done their research on the breed, and are easily parted with their money. Odds are that your dog(as many runts ususally do) will grow into a normal sized JRT, some are just born smaller. Or it is a possibility that the breeder crossed her JRTs with something else to make them smaller(say chihuahua?)
Dogs that are purposefully bred to be smaller (like the so called teacups) often end up having numerous health problems that would have been avoided if the breeder had paid attention to health rather than size.
I hope you didn't throw away too much $$ on this dog. And I wouldn't be going around telling people that you have a teacup JRT either, as most would percieve you as foolish for buying into the hype of a bad breeder, and it sounds really stupid when you say it out loud…

So many "breeders" today are working at that goal of having the smallest pups available. At any cost.
Some are feeding their newborns less by taking the mom away for long periods of the day to make sure the pup doesn't eat too much. This is causing sickly pups. Newborn and young pups as your vet can tell you need to eat all the time or at least until they get full. Their feeding should not be rationed but left down for them to eat when they are hungry.
They are in their critical growing stage of life. Pups should not be judged on the basis of their puppy weight (whether small or large) but by their body frames. Besides isn't that how humans are judged as to determine our average body weights?
There is no actaul term teacup it is a marketing ploy used by back yard breeders to get as much money possible for a small often unhealthy dog.

Tea cup Jack Russells are bred by unscruitable breeders who are cashing in on the 'must have' little dogs sported by celebrities.
The tea cup Jack Russells do not conform to the breed standard and are bred from dogs that would in years gone by have had breeding restrictions put on their pedigrees to prevent them producing.
Also, Jack Russells are a working breed, bred to go down holes and flush out rabbits, they are not bred to be dressed up like a baby and carried everywere.
Jack Russell have enormous amounts of energy and should only be taken on by someone who can offer it the amount of exersise and mental stimulation it deserves and needs.
I do hope you treat your dog as a dog and not a fashion accessory. Oh, and start putting the money away for the vets bills that may accompany a dog that is bred from unhealthy stock.
Good luck!

Hi john, i also have one but they're not a tea cup anything, this term is used to get more money out of the buyer! They are normal JR's, just very small, probably due to a small mum and a small dad but the breeders have jumped on the band wagon of the hollywood stars by advertising small dogs as 'tea-cup' dogs! Still, we wouldn't have them any other way would we?
