I have Jack-Russel and a Pitt Bull and they seem to be a little too playful. The Pit likes to bite on the Jack Russel neck and I think that's too rough for a little Jack- Russel. And also, the Pitt is 11x bigger than the Jack-Russel
If they havent drawn blood on each other and dont scream, yelp, cry or whine. They are just playing. If the Jack Cant handle it he will let everyone know. Though its not good behavior to let ANY DOGS behavior become to dominant or too rough, regardless of the breeds. Teach both dogs to obey the NO command so when you think its too rough you tell them no and separate them for a while. Since if the Jack thinks its had enough and it starts a REAL fight, It doesnt have much of a chance against the other dogs power and bite.

Wow, your PB is ELEVEN times bigger than your JR. That must be some monster size dog. You should contact the Guiness Book of World Records! Well, you probably won't have to worry about it too much longer because it's just a matter of time before the PB kills the JR.

That is how dogs play. Play is also a form of learning. If the JR does not like what is going on he'll let the pit know and vice-versa. My dogs do that all the time. Just monitor their behavior. If it seems to be getting out of hand or too rough tell them to settle down, maybe give them a toy to play with. They should be fine. The only time I worry about dogs playing together is when it is a really little dog (teacup or toy) playing around my dogs (Large breed 100+ lbs) as they don't understand their strength and can hurt a small dog with their paws. Otherwise I just leave them be and if it gets too rough I tell them to be gentle or play nice which means they need to calm down a little.

Sure, they can be the best of friends.
Just make sure you know when to step in, if need be.
But I highly doubt it will be a problem.

With those two breeds, I wouldn't allow either dog to take a dominant posture such as neck biting or standing over the other, even as play. It's just too easy for it to turn into a real fight.
Let them play, but give them boundaries. For instance, my mother and son dog play rough a lot, but the male is too big and the mom is too old to allow him to jump on and swat at her. So, we let them play, but he has to lay down. She rolls him around and he loves it. They get to let out their energy without risk of the old girl getting hurt.

It's playful. As long as the Jack Russel enjoys it, let them play.

They're are just playing, there's nothing to worry about. These breeds are in fact very playful. Here's more details about them,

Just pay close attention to their playing. If the JR starts screaming (yes they can scream) when the PB has him pinned by the throat then consider separating them. I have nothing against dogs of any kind but PB are notorious for their aggressiveness and can be unpredictable. Never leave them alone and pay attention to anything red. (Except if they have red collars)
