Most of them that we see around here have severe allergies to weeds, trees, grass, etc. Luxating patellas, poor temperaments, epilepsy and dental issues seem to be common in some of them too.

Depends on what was wrong with the male and female who were bred. Some common health problems of the breed are being prone to dislocation of the kneecaps, inherited eye diseases, deafness, Legg Perthes-a disease of the hip joints of small breeds of dogs.

Although they are hyper they can still be good dogs..check out this sight on different health problems..

I have a Jack Russell and he has hip dysplasia (we didnt know about it till he was 6 mths old). But havin hip dysplasia means that he is real quiet and doesnt behave like a ‘normal’ jack russell all the time. Hes not as hypo.

I have five and i breed them so far mine have had no problems and as for hyperness as they got older they were no longer wild but only had 2 that were crazy the others are very calm i love the breed
