Will there be any problems during or after the surgery? I also think she looks funny with her long tail.
You should be able to but check with your vet to be sure. It's not a complicated procedure but their are risks with any surgery. Docking is usually done when the dog is very young and becomes more problematic when they are older.Good luck

You can, but the dog will have long-term pain! I wouldn't recommend it - I'm kinda against it like many people in my country and the government is deciding whether or not to pass the law regarding the docked tails.

they usual dock the tails and dewclaws when the pups are 3 days old-anything after that i think is very cruel and painful!
who cares if she's got a long tail.. it will make her unique looking!

Okay. If the dog is almost certainly destined for issues with her tail, take her to the VET and have THEM do it. If she's not already spayed, do it at the same time. Do NOT attempt to do it yourself, because that would be added unnecessary pain to a procedure that is unnecessary in itself. If she's a house dog, there should be no reason to do that to her.
The aesthetic value of your dog shouldn't be a factor in weather or not you have it done. She doesn't care how she's naturaly built, and I personaly don't think anyone should senselessly alter their dogs, be it docking or cropping.

You should not get there tail dock it is not necisary and it doesnt cause any problems having a tail. On the other hand our jack russel had her tail dock before we brought it (much to our objection) and she now has a thing on the end of her tail which hurts her so she starts yelping and chasing it. So dont get it docked it is cruel and unesisary as there are no health benafits.

You *can*…at the same time you're getting it SPAYED…but it's rather pointless, since it's just a junk-pup or it would have been done at 3 DAYS old!
No problem "during"(HUH???) or after surgery. Just a useless expense!!
If you wanted a CORRECT dog w/a CORRECT tail…why'd you get crap?
