they are cute little dogs, but Tenterfields are cuter, prettier, more intelligent, more agile, more fun loving and better behaved socially…
Jacks can get grumpy and yappy…

They are very active dogs. They were pretty trendy a while ago, but people were not prepared for the high energy levels of these little guys. They are very common around horses. I would recommend considering your lifestyle before owning one. If you spend a lot of time outdoors they may make a good pet, but they need space to RUN,

I have a JRT he is 12yo and he was home bred and we also had his father until he passed away 6 years ago. both of them have/had lovely temperaments very sweet natures never bitten or snappy although some JRTS can be snappy and over excitable neither of mine ever were, they were worked though so didn't have as much energy as most. My JRT Taz is so sweet natured and such a silly softie he's the best behaved dog I've ever had. Although both father and son were expert escape artists that was there only fault!
As long as they are well trained and not treated like babys you should get a pretty balanced well behaved dog they are like most big dogs they must know who is boss or they will take advantage!

If you've really done all the research you claimed you have done, you should have learned everything you need for that six week old pup you're getting in three days.

They love to hunt rats and rabbits. I had a female Jack for twenty years and even in her old age the urge to lie in wait for rats never left her. Once she killed three rats - one after the other in about 15 secs.
