My daughter drew a picture of a skeleton man in school and she left it on chair whilst she went to bed, my pup (5 months) starts growling and barking first couldn't figure out what she was barking at, then I moved the picture and she was like kitty the hare, hiding… lol
Is this normal?
She's good Kev, lol
how are you????
lol… thanks Plato, we do that too, she's soooo funny
Psychotic is not the word lol they are full of life- sweet little dogs-she's probably scared until she know's what it is lol- my friend has a Jack Russell called Nellie!!! she loves nothing better than tearing her soft toys to shreds! we often have a game of tug-of- war lol INellie keeps getting phantom pregancies so has to wear a big collar to stop her pulling at herself lol! It goes away. Sandy will calm down when she's a little older.

Sometimes dogs will just react to something that they don't like. My dogs happen to not like uncrumped aluminum foil, but they will chase a ball of foil around the house for hours.

Yes, jack russel pups are likely to have odd behavior, due to their nature & process of growing up
My parents had one before I was born which used to bite balloons, they'd pop, then he'd go behind furniture trying to find it XD

The dog wasn't barking at the 'contents' of the drawing, but at the fact that it was on the chair … and yes, that is 'perfectly normal' behavior for a Jack Russell puppy. Why did he 'hide'? Because of the 'sound' the paper made when you moved it. Dog's can not 'see pictures' (although some can see images on Television or computer monitors), so she was 'barking' because there wa paper in the chair and she wanted to sit there, and she 'ran' because you moved, and made 'noise' with the picture … weird, but true.

Jack Russell Terriers are considered intelligent and are filled with energy. They are popular pets due to their small size, friendly nature, intelligence and curiosity. They need a lot of exercise as they have a hunting background and are meant to be strong and fast. Though they love to play, training is necessary as untrained Jack Russell Terriers tend to have difficult behaviors.
Jack Russell Terriers make good watchdogs as they were designed to bark at prey. Though they are very vocal dogs, they do not bark unless there is a good reason to. Likely your pup couldn't figure out what the skeleton man was and got spooked which caused the growling and barking.
FYI - Jack Russels are good with children, but any kind of abuse, even accidental, is not tolerated by them.
