My family is going to get a puppy, and i really want a Jack Russell Terrier puppy, and i just found areally good one, but i am asking what is there puppy behavior? Are they hyper or are they calm? Do they chew? Just general stuff.

okay… i have a jack russell…he's 7 now… he's hyper and crazy, he don't really chew but they are dominant, territoral, and stubborn, if not properly trained when young

they do chew and hyper sometimes but there an all around good dog

I have a Jack Russell. He's actual pretty mellow most of the time, but that usually isn't the standard behavoriour for the JRT. It also depends how hyper the puppy is now because if he isn't you should make sure that he gets plenty of exercise because my dog became overweight and developed diabetes and cushings as a result. They also generally love to chew so have a good supply of chew toys or old stuffed animals on hand. Good luck with your new puppy! If you take good care of them they are very rewarding little rascals!

I got a Jack Russell pup and he was sweet, but he is very very hyper , chews, barks even when I've tried training. He will need lots and lots of exercise.

They are a highly active dog; as long as they're kept busy, are trained, they should stay out of trouble.
