This happened about 6 hours ago, the pup initially was squealing till I cuddled her and calmed her down. I have checked for breaks, seems like the hip may be out of socket? Slight swelling under the back leg, she won’t put weight on it, but can move it. Was shaking, grimacing, whimpering. I gave her a tiny piece of Vetalog to help ease the pain, she has stopped shaking and is resting in my arms, could this just be a sprain? How long would a sprain take to show improvement?
Well sure it could be a sprain, it could also be a break, it could also be a hip out of socket. Why are you guessing and asking strangers when it is clear the dog is in pain and needs a Vet ASAP

OK…one minute you say “seems like the hip may be out of socket”…..then “could it be just a sprain”. Don’t you think that MAYBE a vet might be the one to ask these questions of?????
IF the hip IS dislocated, a vet WILL be needed!!!!!!! The longer you wait, the WORSE it will become to fix.
