Training Jack Russells

If a Jack Russell puppy is good with children, is this a sign she will continue to be. She is a mix but looks

she is said to be a mix, but looks just like a jack russell.

my jr terrier is probably mostly wire-haired terrier, because he is larger, than most jr terriers..yet, like yours, he looks like a jr terrier.. the most annoying, and possibly dangerous thing, that jr's do, is jumping up high, and jumping on people… this could be dangerous around young children, because they could be scared of a dog trying to jump on them, or knocking them over because the dog is excited.. yet, if your dog does not exhibit this trait, it could have more of the wire-haired terrier in her, and it sounds like her personality, could be atypical, and calm for a terrier.. just keep an eye on her, around strange or visiting children, to be on the safe side !!

Yes, it just depends on socialization. Dogs, like wolves are pack animals. Very social and will consider members of a household as pack members. In socializing with your children you need to make sure she or he learns that children are higher up in the pack structure. This is with any dog. A dog who considers children lower will snap at kids as it would any other dog in its pack. This is not a personal problem it has with kids it's just a correction measure they do to insure they stay on top in the pack. Some breeds are less severe as others, Chihuahua's snappiness vs. Pit bull's, which are known for guarding the younger members of a pack loyally I hope this helps. Your dog will be just fine and so will your kids as long as they are taught to understand they're dogs limits.
