We just got a three month old female puppy and are curious to see how long it will take. Just a rough estimate, I know usually you can't be too specific about it…
But how long is too long?
I have no answer for you but i just wanted to let you know your not alone. lol. i look forward to this answer as well as you. Mines 3 months old.

No one can give you a time frame.. We don't know if your consistent, we don't know his feeding schedule. We don't know his environment.. We don't know the dog .. Gee we don't know anything other then you have a dog and maybe or maybe not training it..
There is no way to be sure, it can take weeks, it can take months..

as long as you are consistant it shouldn't be too long
lets say 2 to 3 weeks, but do not give the run of the house till the puppy knows to go to the door to let you know he/she has to potty
I train my puppies before they leave my house, they start at 3.5 on wee pads and at 6 weeks if its not to cold they start outside, when they go to their forever homes, all the new family has to do is show the puppy which door to go to if they need to potty
