Training Jack Russells

we have jack russell puppies going for 2nd jab tue and worming we have found now they have fleas can we treat?

them now or do we leave till after jabs

You don't need to wait to treat them for fleas, but get flea treatment from the vets, Frontline is the best, over the counter flea treatment is a waste of money, they don't work.

most of the topical flea treatments are fine without vaccinations. just make sure they are approved for the dogs age. most of them cannot be used on puppies under 6 weeks of age. Advantix is a good one, so is revolution. Revolution also protects from heartworm, and must be purchased at the vet, but definitely ask your vet what to use. some areas get fleas worse than others and they will know what will be most effective, make sure to also treat the home as well as yard to prevent it from getting worse.

you can treat now and there is a range of products available.
As they are young make sure you only buy something that says it is safe for pups of their age. You will find the best is either a spot on treatment or a tablet

Treat now. Only use flea treatment from a vets - do NOT use flea treatments available in pet stores, they do not work and some are dangerous. I would not wait til tues, I would go to the vets to get Frontline now; fleas are hard to get rid of once they're present, you'll probably need to spray your house too. If you wait til tues, that's 4 more days for a zillion flea eggs to hatch out in your home!

Wait until you go to the vets and get some Frontline from them.

It kills the fleas when they jump on your dog so you won't have to spray your furnishings or carpets at all.

I have used it for years and it is suitable to use on puppies even before weaning.
