2 puppies at the same time are likely to bond with each other rather than the adults - the upside - they will take out thier boundless energy on each other - downside - by the time you realize that they don't listen to you - you will have missed the opportunity to bond and train.

I'd never get two terrors (terriers can be terrors) pups at the same time. Way too much work to get them trained.

Get both pups when they're puppies and they'll act like sisters. I had 2 huskys both from different litters and i got them at the same time and they acted like sisters and had a really great bond together. But if your thinking of getting 2 get them at the same time. And make sure if they are females get them spayed.

I hope you have lots of time and boundless energy to train them.
On the up side…they will keep each other entertained and company…..it won't matter if the are M or F as they will bond. Good luck with them. Got any good names for them?

JRTs are very feisty, willful dogs and one on its own is usually a handful. It's not usually a good idea to get two puppies at once because they need so much one on one attention to be adequately trained and socialized. That's true of all dogs. I'd wait until the first is a year old and fully trained before you add a second. Good luck
Add:
There's no set rule as far as what combination of male and female is best. It's personal preference. Meet the puppies and decide which one's personality you like best.

it is entirely up to you…if you are buying them to breed, then male and female. if you are buying them just for pets,, male and female get along better…

It's not a good idea to get two puppies at the same time and no reputable breeder will sell you two. Get one pup now, raise and train it right for the next year and then get another one preferably of the opposite sex. but ONLY if you intend to either spay and neuter or be extremely careful. And the only reason to not spay/neuter is if you will be showing the dog/s in confirmation.

I wanted to do this too but everyone advised me against this they said it would be better to wait until the first puppy was fully trained and bonded to you and then get the other puppy at that point it tends to be best to have a male and female at least that is what I hear but if you first dog has no problems with the same sex especially if he is neutered you should be fine (same with females)
Now that I have one puppy and an adult dog it is nice with some things he pretty much can be credited with showing her the right potty habits but they still pull one over on me together sometimes I can not imagine two wild puppies plotting against me

Never ever get Jack Russels. In the city I live in, the RSPCA is full of JRs abandoned by their owners. These dogs, although small in size, have an abundance of energy, and if the owner cannot provide them with sufficient activities to tap this energy, they become highly destructive. They are the curse of the dog world.

get 2 at the same time so they can run around and play all day together and tear up your yard together also if you get a girl and a boy the chick will bash the dude.

I would not be getting two puppies at the same time. There can be a world of problems that go along with doing this and it is just not worth it. It can be worse ifyou are doing this with litter mates too.
I would suggest getting one and putting some training on it to a decent level before considering getting the second pup.

WOW! I must first start of by saying have you ever had a jack before? They are extremely hyperactive dogs. I am telling you this because I have a Bull Terrier and they're temperaments are the same. If you have experience with this type of dog then you have to think if you want to breed this dog. If so then get one of each, naturally not siblings. If you are getting to males, remember there may be some dominance issues, females you must think of them getting in heat if you dont operate them.
In general I think 2 puppies are a handful. Especially that breed. But if you're up the challenge, I applaud u.

I agree wholeheartedly with Sonbear. I got two puppies (a brother and sister). You NEVER knew who was the culprit when something was torn up, missing, or chewed.
Also, they were difficult to housebreak for the same reason. I'd strongly caution you to reconsider a pair. Get one, train it, then add the second one.
The two live in separate houses now, but they get along well.
