my three month old pug just got a hold to some chocolte that my jack@ss sister left on the ground, it was half of a slim fast chocolate bar. my pup is only like ten pounds and im afraid he'll die
My pug got a hold of a brownie yesterday, and she's only 12lbs. She's fine.
Just watch to see if she starts acting sick.

If you're really that worried why are you on the computer and not on the phone with the vet? If you get him in soon enough they can give him charcoal to absorbe the toxins. GO!!

It depends on how much real chocolate was in the bar. I'd get to an emergency vet just to be sure. Once he starts to digest it it could be too late.

well, it depends on how big the slim fast bar was. most of those are tiny little things (the bars, not dogs). but if your dog shows symptoms of being sick, you should take it to the vet. our pug got ahold of 1 or 2 hershey's kisses when she was around that young, and she's still here.

Depending on what kind of chocolate ( dark etc.) I've had small Jack Russell terriers come into my vet clinic that have eaten huge king sized dark chocolate bars and had not a 1 sick symptom. Usually recommend a small bit of pepto bismol ( about 2-3mls) to coat the belly and some boiled chicken and rice afterwards for a meal, Something blan. Good luck !!

First off, how much did he eat. I have a neighbor who's pug ate an entire pakage of chocolate chips. They had to take her to the vet to get her stomach pumped. She was close to death. But she's alive now. Watch your dog carefully, and if she starts to act different, take her to the vet .

the darker and baking chocolates are the worst. If in doubt you can make them throw up. 1 tbs to 2 tbs hydrogen peroxide down the throat (2 tbs for my 15 lb JR so start with 1 tbs). Wait 5-10 minutes and be in a place easy to clean up. They should throw it up. Watch out because they will try and eat it so clean it up fast. If 10 minutes pass and nothing happens do a little more peroxide. Works like a charm and given to me by my vet..
