Training Jack Russells

What is wrong w/ my yorkie jack russell mix? My male dog is shaking on and off and is very lethargic.?

My one year old dog woke up last night and would not stop shaking his head, like something was stuck in his right ear. Today his body is shivering, shaking on and off. He is very lethargic. I covered him in a blanket and he is sleeping now. His nose is cold. He will not eat dog food or treats, but ate a little bit of a hot dog. Is this just a common cold, or do I need to take him to the vet?

Vet for sure. This is not normal and can be very serious. I would go now. Could it be poisoning?

I would personally get your dog to the vet…. There could be something seriously wrong with him if he's not eating and shaking a lot…

he could have parvo , or something simple…..

but since it's late 7pm in NJ it maybe to late to take him to the vet so make him comfortable until toomm

check his temp…. and give him baby tylonal……if he doesn't feel better at all take him to the vet…. he may have a bad cold or ear infection and may need antibiotics…and try to keep him drinking plenty of water … you never ever want a dehydrated dog…..even if he doesn't eat…. and try giving him a little bit of boilled chicken breast he'll eat that and it will give him streghth

let me know how it goes …sorry

Ok, out Westie had those symptoms. We took her to a vet as soon as we thought she was ill but unfortunately she died. The vet had no idea why. I'm not saying this will happen to your dog, theres a hundred and 1 things it could be, but I'm just saying take him to a vet straight away.
And DO NOT leave until they know whats wrong either, some vets have a tendancy to fob you off.

    I'm sure its something simple.

i would definitely take him to the vet, it doesn't actually sound like parvo because parvo makes vomiting and bloody diarrhea and you havent mentioned anything like that. there could be any number of things wrong and i would be prepared for the vet to want bloodwork and maybe x rays. and please dont give him and baby tylenol because when you ge to the vet and he wants to give him some medication it will interfere. dogs are not little humans and can not be treated as such
good luck and hope everything works out

For a start, Dogs do not get Colds, common or otherwise.
I'd take him to a Vet. A cold nose doesn't signify he's OK and I doubt you have a thermometer to take his temperature! Feel his tummy to see if it's warmer than usual.
If he was just shaking his head I'd suggest ear mites but the other symptoms wouldn't be there. He could have an ear infection or something far worse and needs a proper diagnosis and treatment.
    Hope he's OK.

Please don't follow LADYBUG's unqualified advise!!!!!
You should never treat a dog with human medication! It's not only dangerous it could mask further symptoms that will help the Vet diagnose the problem!
