Hi,
I just got a chihuahua/jack russell mix from the shelter. She is 12 lbs. and I started feeding her Cesar Cuisine’s, how much should I give her in order to maintain a healthy weight? All help is appreciated.
A chihuahua/jack does not have a very big stomach so you would feed it about a cup of food a day at twice a day intervals. You may wish to check out this link, toward the bottom of the page shows the scale for feeding a dog of your size. I hope this helps out.

Most pet foods have feeding guidelines on them by age and weight. It’s best to follow those.

I have found that the feeding guidelines on pet food are only good advice when the food in question is good quality (not the standard supermarket varieties). The general rule is this: 1 cup of dry food per 30 lbs of animal, per day. In a wet food, this would translate to about 156g a day per 30 lbs. If your pet is more active, give him/her a little more. If they are less active, give them a little less. If you have an overweight animal, or your pet gains too much weight, don’t just assume you need to put them on a low fat diet. More often than not, they are overweight because of how much they are being fed.
