Any tips for a smooth transition
Introduce them to each other away from the house so they can get to know and like each other. Sometimes bringing a dog into a house can make the other way over-protective of their place.
Once together make sure you give them both the same amount of love and attention so they don't get jealous of each other

Get them out walking as a pack, moving forward and enjoying each other in a pack situation, without ‘human forced’ introductions.
