Be sure to walk with them together. It's a great way to build the "pack mentality"

Hopefully your older dog is well socialized, but my experience is even aggressive dogs tend to be gentler with young puppies. Make sure they are well supervised when they meet and any time they are together. Allow the older dog to discipline but not hurt the puppy. They will establish their relationship, so try not to interfere. Give it time.

you can't make them friends - you will probably find they will do it themselves
this is normally easier if they are opposite sex but with such a young dog it should happen regardless jsut watch out for the rebelious phse at around 8 months

Well don't just throw them in a room toghether. First let them just get to know how to coopirate with other animals. Sing them up for a class at a pet store. That way once they get to know other dogs and cats. Then when there ready let them meet.

    you can't.

You let them get to be friends.
you don't let them get in fightts, and you treat them based on which one you want or hope will be alpha.

Treating them perfectly equally ( like you would children) confuses most dogs. they need to know who the pack leader is.

When my sister got a puppy, our 4-year-old dog didn't really seem to like him. We would put them together (in a well supervised area) for a short time, let them check eachother out and play. Everytime we would leave them together longer. In no time they were getting along fine. And now that the younger dog is full grown (and won't accidently be hurt by the older larger dog), we can even leave them together all day long unsupervised. I don't know if that is what professionals would suggest, but it worked for us.
