It varies from dog to dog same as everyother breed. My uncle had one and it lived to 14. I have one now but she is only 2 so that problem hasn't came up yet.

A well cared for Jack Russell can live for over 15 years. One main health concern is cataracts. They are often seen in dogs bred by backyard breeders or puppy mills who have not CERF tested the breeding stock they use.
Other concerns are Lens luxation, congenital deafness (responsible breeders will have their dogs BAER tested), Patellar luxation, cerebellar ataxia, Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease, and von Willebrand's disease.

I don't know what a Jack Russell Dog is. But I don't believe any breed will see 20 human years. My Lab just died at 15 yrs old and she had real good care. In my youth our mixed breed mutt lived to 18 yrs old with no special care at all. But, I'd say any dog given good food, AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING OF ALL….EXERCISE! Will reach it's potential life span. Over feeding, and inactivity are the two worst things possible, it makes them sickly & dramaticly shortens an otherwise healthy dog's life.
