I am not talking about teacups and all that crap. I am talking AKC good quality Yorkshire Terriers. How much would a good breeder charge for a show quality Yorkshire? and a pet quality Yorkshire? I know each breeder is different, but what should the price range be around. I am talking reputable breeds as well. Also if you would could you please tell the price you paid for your pet/show quality dog from a breeder?

Pet quality the lowest you could expect to pay would be around 600-700.

Show quality low end would be 900-1000

There are some breeders who do not charge differently for show vs pet quality. You don't see this too often but it does happen.

My mother show Cocker spaniels cost her for both around 2200 I believe. I honestly don't remember. Out Rottie(pet quality and an older pup) was 600. My next dog is going to cost me between 500 and 900.

Save yourself at least 1400 dollars. If you really want a good dog, try going to an animal rescue shelter and see what they have. You can find all kinds of loyal, loving, cuddly and SMART, trainable dogs there…and for a lot less money. When you pay exorbitant prices for questionably bred "purebred"? dogs, you cheat yourself, and add to the pet overpopulation problem, and generally end up paying less than 100.00 for the dog at a shelter.Many shelters have purebred or near purebred, and hybrid dogs. I'm sure you would be able to find one to your liking!

Im looking to get a dog for my b'day…. i think i might go with Norwich Terrier but do u know any breeders that live in Adelaide SA. and also if u know how much they are.
or if you no a friend.

There are only 400 or FEWER Norwich a year,coast to coast in the whole US.
FAR fewer in OZ. There's only one I can think of in NZ & she imported from here & UK.

Norwich are NEVER dumped in pounds!!! The club "rescue" chair for the US sent a buyer to me cuz there are NONE in rescue.

The JRT mutts pictured are NOTHING like Norwich.

It's a hybrid breed that is a mix of westie and scottish terrier.

Obviously it depends were in the UK you live but if you go on the kennel club web site they will have a list of breeders. The breeders that are kennel club registered only breed there females once a year I believe, which in turn means that you won't be buying from those dreaded puppy farms. Also ask lots of questions read up on the breed as my sister has a Scottie and he has problems with his paws something to do with mites.

Ask your veterinarian to recommend a breeder. They usually know who breeds and raises responsibly. If you don't have a vet, then check the phone book and just call one.

Airedales should be hip-scored prior to breeding, so make sure whoever you buy off of can show you proof of good hipscores for both dam and sire.

No, but if you contact the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Association they can give you the information if the person breeds registered dogs. The SCWTA website is at http://www.scwtca.org/index.asp . You might also try the AKC, if they are breeding AKC registered dogs http://www.akc.org .
