Training Jack Russells

In Pirates of the Carribean 3 when theyre just rescuing Jack and he thinks theyre a hallucination he says ?

Q.E.D? What does that stand for?

It's short for a Latin phrase of "quod erat demonstrandum" which means something like "that which has been demonstrated". So Jack is basically saying "You've already shown me twice in the past that the only time you seek me out is to help save Elizabeth, so it can't be anything else now."
Or maybe I'm reading too much into it…

Lost Season 4 Episode 1 WHO is the man at the end from the 'rescue' helicopter that says 'is that you Jack?'

It was the guy talking to Naomi over the phone, the one from her ship.

What do you feed your Jack Russell Terrier?

I have an amazing jack russell, he is almost 10 years old and we rescued him when he was 2. We buy his dry food from whole foods (it has a lot of vegetables and organic grains) which he absolutely loves. Now, wet food is another story. I have tried a few brands but his stomach is very sensitive and the past couple nights he has been throwing it all right back up!

He just had a check up so I know there is nothing wrong with him, I just want to know what other owners feed their Jacks and find out if there is maybe a gentle senior brand of wet food we can give him. thanks!
wow these answers are very helpful, so jacks really don't need wet food? maybe i will make him chicken and rice (very bland) but he loves chicken, and that would be easy on the stomach. thanks

I feed my Jacks Eagle Pak Holistic dry kibble. They also get a dollop of canned Pumpkin, not the kind used to make pies, and to the on on a diet I use green beans as a filler. I add just enough hot water to stir in the green beans and pumpkin. I feed twice a day. My Jacks also get vegetables such as carrots and broccoli. I play Flyball with my Jacks and they are in excellent physical condition.

My opinion would be feed the dry kibble until they can no longer eat the dry. It is good for their teeth as well as helps them eat slower if they are a dog that devours their food.

I have a 8 year old jack russel terrier. She was a rescue dog.?

She pees or poos where ever she wants and we take her out all the time and we are home full time. She knows shes done something wrong but still does her business. Getting real frustrated had dogs all my life but cant get rid of this problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Feed her on a strict schedule, twice per day, and put the bowl up as soon as she turns from it..Then, about 10 minutes later, take her for a walk..Walking stimulates bladder and bowels, much better than just putting her out. As soon as he pees or poops, give her gentle praise, and head back for home.

Do this several times per day for pee breaks, and be consistent. You will soon learn the 'times' that she pees, and adjust the walks accordingly..
Meanwhile, get Nature's Miracle, or other enzyme cleaner from a pet shop, and clean her indoor areas as well as you can, to get rid of her former odors.

Scolding does NO good, as she isn't peeing to be naughty, but as a symptom of insecurity..She prefers to pee/poop where she is safe, and her scent can't be followed by the 'boogieman'..
The best way to increase her security, or self esteem, is to teach her something, such as shake hands, or any other easy lesson, where she gets praise for her performance..

Dogs love routines and schedules, as they learn what to expect and when.

But, the more you scold her for peeing indoors, the worse the problem will be..

Rescue that will take a Jack russell in Pa? Nj? DE?

If we don't find somewhere to take our Russell very soon, my wife wants me to take him to the spca. Even though I really don't like this dog, I would feel really bad, so I'm trying to find some other way. The spca would just kill him.
I also don't need lectures about getting a Russell in the first place. I told them that was the wrong dog for us, I told them we should never get one etc. but we've stuck it out for 3 years, and we can't take it anymore.
We're in Phiadlelphia. I'll drive to NY NJ DE MD, I just don't want to take him to be put to sleep, but I only have a few weeks leeway, so if someone knows anyone or anyplace, I'd appreciate it, and eventually I think ol' Jack Jack will too. Thanks.
Ok, already got snotty animal rights nut job answers. Don't need the grief. Already admitted our mistake, just trying to save the stupid dog. If I get more hassles, I'll just take down the question and put him to sleep tomorrow. And your holier than thou attidude caused it. Or I guess I could just drop him off in the woods, at least then he'll still have a chance to live, and I won't have to hear your crap. Thanks for the help.

This list should help:

Now that poor dog has to pay for your irresponsibility, and the irresponsibility of who ever you got him from. I hope the poor dog finds a good forever home.

I have twin baby girls and need to give my much loved Jack Russell Terrier up for adoption, How do I do this?

I have a 7 year old Jack Russell that has been wonderful, but I am concered as our girls grow up they will not interact well and I cant take the chance that something happens. I have tried the Michigan rescue, but the latest information is that it has been shut down. Are their any avenues that people have used to any success?

put an ad in the newspaper, and check the people out that answer the ad. if you don't think they're responsible, don't give them the dog.

Who will take my Jack Russell in Ontario?

I have a jack russell and I would like to give him to a farm or rehab shelter. I can no longer take care of him, he is begining to mark in my apartment and slowly becoming aggressive in terms of growling, he has never bitten anyone. I don't want to put him down. Could someone please help me find him an animal rescue shelter to be rehabed or adopted to a farm.

Short of training your dog, I suppose the only other choice is to give him up. I don't think he needs "rehab", it sounds like he needs training and a strong leader. But if you can't provide that, then contact the JRT Rescue in Ontario:

Is it possible for a Jack Russell not to be able to bark?

I rescued a young adult male Jack Russell from a local dog pound last week. He is a very well-trained and loving little guy. However, he has yet to bark even once. He has whined and whimpered a few times, yet not one bark. People I know who have experience with the breed say they can be naturally quite "yappy." Can his lack of barking be natural, or is it possible that his previous owner had him surgically altered to prevent barking?

Although it's possible he was surgically altered to prevent barking, I don't think that's the case.
I have a beagle who I rescued from a pound a few years ago. He didn't bark for the first 2-3 weeks, now he won't shutup! :P
He's probably just getting adjusted to the new environment, it's only been a week so give him time.
Good luck on your new addition to the family :]
