I have an adorable 5 month old Jack Russell and of course i would think that he is more handsome than some of the ordinary caledar pics you get but i think he is such a handsome chap. Can anyone help? I have searched on net but with no luck!

I have three Jack Russell pups, Male and one is 7 weeks the other two are 9.
I just ran with them for a good 45 minutes and they STILL want to run, how do I make them tired?
They will cry for 5 minutes after for more play, 45 minutes to an hour twice a day is pretty good in my books but it mighten be enough?
Any ideas?
(I know they aren’t just crying for a “mother” because they get destructive which to me means they have more energy to burn)
They also have access to a digging pit, toys and each other.
So they do have other things to play with, which they will do.
Dude, my dogs have so much access to water it aint funny AND puppy milk AND food.
It is readily available.
I am fully ready to stop, and take brakes with them and they pull and yap and want more.
So go jump!
Jacks are insane. I, personally, can’t keep up with them. But my Aunt breeds them, and one of the things she likes to tell people to keep in mind is this:
Tire the body AND the mind! You are definitely running the dogs enough, but are you challenging them to problem solve? Running is pretty mindless (but fun!) stuff. But how to get that yummy peanut butter out of the middle of the kong? How to stop that ice cube from running across the linoleum? How to get the treats out of the hole in the box?
Try tiring out their brains and their bodies!

I don't want to breed my Jack Russell but I do want to know how often she will come into season so I can be prepared and also on the off chance that she does get cought because I was unaware of when she is due into season I would like to know what I will be dealing with.
blimey what jack russels do you lot know, average for a jack is 4 possibly 5, and bitches are in season for up to 3wks, they bleed for up to 11 days are normally mated on the 12th and 14th day, they come into season around about every 6/7 months.

my jack russell pup is a light tan colour all over with a black stripe down his back and a black tail. he also has a black snout. hes very cute i just wondered if this was a normal colouring for a jack russell as they r usually white with patches arent they? thanks
Jack Russell is not a 'breed' as defined by the kennel club. Consequently there is a lot of variation in size, coat length, and colour. Black and tan are common additions to white, but there are no rules as there is no breed standard. The Parson Russell terrier is a recognised breed, and is not the same as a Jack Russell. They pretty much all look like Eddie from the TV show Frasier. I think you probably do have a 'pure' Jack Russell but this is not a breed in itself. It doesn't matter though- Jack Russells are great!

i have 9 jack russell puppys mum is having problems feeding them all at the same time there all seem very huggry is it ok to pix some puppy milk up that i got from the vet WELPI AND ADD A LITTEL BREAD it my 1st time the pups are nealy 4 wks old mum is still feeding them i just want to give them a bit help thank you
I had a litter of 7 once and I started them earlier than 4 weeks to feed. I used the Esbalac and mixed it with Baby Rice Cereal at first. Used a 9 x13 cake pan to mix the food in and set the babies right in it a few at a time. They were curious enough to start lapping it up and as an added bonus - when mom would clean them up - she got extra nutrition too. Which is something else you need to be worried about. Add some ground beef, liver in small amounts as well as eggs and yougurt.
When they were a little older, I soaked the puppy dog food in the mixture of Esbilac and baby rices cereal - they were fine. Matter of fact one of those little babies just turned 15 in December!

as some of you commented. I love my dog very much and I think the pups which are called jackrats are cute. Mutt is such a harsh word for a dog that you have a lot of feelings for. Please try to be more selective on your answers.
I raise a very elegant breed..I have a homeful of lovely purebreds..
However, my little mutt is just as valuable to me.. I am proud that she's a mutt, as she is a one-of-a kind! No body can buy one just like her, which makes her special..As soon as I put a 'designer dog' name on her..then she is just another dog..soon to be copied by puppy mills, and others can have one like her…I like her as a one and only!
Seriously! I wouldn't take a million dollars for her…
However, when Get em Gang says the word,( and some others) it makes it sound as something undesirable and worthless… I wonder if he has a dog that he wouldn't take a million for?

That's disgusting. No pup should be fed bread and milk. What kind of breeder would feed that? No good breeder would EVER advertise Jack Russell Terriers as "miniature". Jack Russells come in one size.
The best thing to feed puppies is a high quality dry kibble. Try a brand like Canidae, Wellness, Innova, EVO, Solid Gold, Timberwolf Organics, Flint River Ranch, Orijen, Artemis, Life's Abundance, Eagle Pack Holistic, etc. Try to stay away from brands you can find at Wal-Mart/grocery stores/etc. such as Eukanuba, Iams, Purina, Beneful, Ol' Roy, Pedigree, Kibbles n Bits, Science Diet, etc. These foods contain fillers and by-products, which is basically everything you don't want to feed your puppies.
Please reconsider supporting this breeder. It doesn't sound like this person knows what they're doing and is a good example of an irresponsible backyard breeder.

That depends on which litter it is & age
If she's under 2 yrs, she's probably not fully developed to carry a large litter.
For a first litter they, any dog, can have just one pup - or 10 - litter sizes can vary with age and how many times she has been bred.
You can have X-rays done to tell you how large the litter is.
