He sleeps with me every night if I keep the door close he will let me know that he needs to go out, but if I leave the door open poor carpet get a dump. Help do you think he needs a little baby sister Jack Russell ?
You have got to crate train him. Crate training is NOT cruel so don't freak out. Your dog, once in the crate will whine and whine, but eventually he will find it as his safeplace. How old is your dog? Is he a puppy? Puppies up until a certain age cannot hold their eliminations so that may be one problem. Otherwise, go to Walmart or Petsmart and get a crate for a small dog. One that is completely open metal (not one of those plastic carrier deals) that has a removable plastic tray at the bottom. You can take it out and spray it with the waterhose. Good luck. I don't know any sites, but if you do decide to do the crate training, google crate training and you'll find lots of literature about crate training that will help you.

my jack russell try to get my guinea pigs when i clean them out or when we talk about them? any advice please!
Jack Russells are terriers and terriers are basically meant to hunt and catch vermin. "Vermin" are small animals about the size of a rat or a rabbit… or a guinea pig.
So for the sake of your guinea pigs, keep them safe and protected from your dog. There is a good chance he would attack or possibly kill them if he had a chance.

I have 2 cats who have the run of the house and in the past 3 days I adopted a 3yr. old jack russell/boston terrier and want the dog and cats to get along. Now when he sees them he chases them. He has never been around cats but the cats have been around a dog. Desparate for help!
It will take time and you may never be able to trust this dog unsupervised since you've chosen to live with a terrier breed (even though mixed) that tends to have a high prey drive.
You want him to associate the cats' presence with good things, but you also want him to know that certain behaviors will not be tolerated by you, his pack leader.
Have the dog dragging a lead or long line at all times that you are able to closely supervise him. Then, when he even starts to look at the cats, issue a correction. Then call him to you (assist him in coming if necessary) have him sit, helping him if he doesn't know the command yet, and praise him for obeying.
In addition, put the dog on lead and tether him to you so you have your hands free. Have the dog and cats in the same room. Keep asking for the dog's attention and having him obey different commands, helping him to obey if necessary. Each time he successfully obeys a command, praise him and give him a small treat. Repeat several times a day, keeping each session short.

She'll be outside all day, but as soon as she comes inside, she uses the bathroom either on the floor or the furniture.
Restrict her to the room that you are in and keep an eye on her… as soon as she looks like she's ready to go, pick her up and take her outside.
Also, you need to get the pet odor remover sprays from the petshop — she will keep going in the same places until you completely remove the odor… regular cleaning won't do it..
When she does indicate that she wants to go out, take her out and when she goes praise her and give her a goody…
Until she proves she can behave, she can't have run of the house.

I have 2 dogs, a jack russell and a rat terrier. We used to always make sure there was food in there bowels at all times. But then the jack russell started to gain a ton of weight. Now we follow the back of the dog food bag guideline. It is premium dog food. My dogs get normal activity, but now they act like they're starving, is this normal? My dogs are healthy otherwise.
it is normal because they were used to eating as much as they wanted because you would just leave the food dish full. they are adjusting to the restrictions. this is very normal and you dont have to worry about a thing

We have a crazy 15 pound Jack Russel/Beagle mix. What is the best large breed that will get along with him AND be a guard dog that does not nip or bite children or small dogs?
Well, to tell you how 'crazy' he can be… He visits my moms house who has a Cairn terrier, and he pulls her leg hairs and tail hairs just to get a rise out of her until she snaps then he runs away and runs back to do it all over again. We're working on obedience now…
I'd go to a shelter and look over the dogs there. You can carry your JR dog with you to make sure they get along. In a shelter you will find all kinds of dogs mixed and pure. They will also answer any question you have about introducing the two dogs. GL

I posted her on post on postaroo.com and OK4Free.com. Penny, is a female, inside dog. She is 6 or 7 years old, shots up to date, spayed, heartgard, free of ticks and fleas. She is a devoted, loving dog, that has never been around children. Penny is also a great mouser! She is free to a good home! Needs to be in a single dog family.
Again do not give her away FREE. call your local shelter and find out if they have a number to the Jack Russell rescue group in the area. or the aspca. Please do not give her away FREE. if you read your last post you will see that I have told you why. Good luck.
