Training Jack Russells

why does jack frm emmerdale never take his coat off?

he's in that horrid wax jacket every time i see him or a chequed shirt, have you noticed?

lol,he does coming to think of it it's that beige jacket and a pair of jeans for him!it's become his trademoark farmer uniform,It must be for the same reason as why Edna never takes of her hat,I mean she does have long hair down to her back in real life.

I applied Black Jack fibered roof coating a couple of days ago and it is blistering. What now?

My friend and I covered (brushed) his rolled roofing (1 layer) with Black Jack fibered roof coating (black). His roof is flat with a 15 degree slope top to bottom. His roof had leaks and it rained 2 days before we covered the roof. The roof felt dry when we started. The temperature range has been 45-85 with some dew in the morning. It has been a couple of days and the covering is blistering…small blisters that just seem to contain air. Is it possible moisture from below the roof surface trying to escape? It had been dry for a month before the day of rain that preceded our project, and dry since. Is it the morning dew causing a problem? Most important, is it ruined, or can we roll out the blisters with a rubber roller or something? I'm wondering how long the coating takes to cure as well, as it seems a bit soft to walk on. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

there was moisture on the roof, just enough to expand under the coating when the roof warmed up, creating the bistering, you can try removing the blisered areas and reapplying after a few dry days and late in the afternoon. The blisters aren't adhering to those areas so rolling is useless

Stripping a dogs coat?Jack russell!?

Hi i was on dogbreedinfo.com and they said that you should strip a jrt’s coat.

What does this mean?

and would it reduce shedding?

thanks please answer cuase im really confused!!
HE SHEDS LIKE CRAZY! AND I BRUSH HIM 2 TIMES A DAY!

Stripping helps tidy the dog up. It helps getting loose or stray hair off the dog. Most people use stripping knives on broken and rough coated dogs. Its not common that one be used on a smooth coated dog.

Most people use stripping knives that look like these:

And a lot of people use these (this is the kind I use):

Stripping a rough or broken coat helps the judge see the shape and attributes of the Jrts he/she is judging.

I show and work Jack Russell Terriers in the JRTCA. I've done so for a total of 9 years.

At our house we have 6 Jack Russell Terriers. We've had way more since we breed them. But at the moment.. just 6.

Anywho, their coat types are as follows:

Daydream Truman- smooth
Zi's Magic Dream- broken
Mouse- heavy broken but not rough
Krystal Kourt Laffy Taffy- smooth
Krystal Kourt Scootin' Scamper- light broken
Rebel Yelp Storm- rough

Hope that helps xD Have a nice day.

Jack Russell Terrier, coat changes.?

My 10 month old Jack Russel changed her coat from a smooth and short to a long and crispy, specially on her back.
Is this normal? Is it a winter coat and it will eventually get back to a short furr again?

It would sound as tho you have a rough coat terrier rather than the smooth coated ones.

I own a smooth coat and she never grows a longer rougher coat for winter. It sounds as tho your pup is simply growing up and showing her adult coat.

They are sweet dogs and love to do tricks…repetitive training every day for a bit will have your sweetheart changing into a gorgeous lovable girl.

All the best to you both.

Other than a silver roofing coat for my MH, can Black Jack Roof MH coating (oil based alum.) be used?

There is an old 5 gal.can about 1/2 full of a silver substance that the former owner left outside my shed but the label is all coated which, I wonder if it's what is on the roof now. I am a 70 year old widow who bought the mobile home last August and a former roofing inspector mentioned last year that the roof should be sealed at the seams. I haven't been able to find anyone in Sonora, CA yet who has time or available ones who have given me a price less than $800. just to have it sealed at the seams. I don't know what the cost should be for a job like that either.

If that can of silver coating is old, it should be discarded.

We use this type of coating on our roof. It works very well, but it is expensive. $800 is a fair price to have the coating applied. The job is messy.

At 70 years old, do you want to be climbing up onto the roof? Call your local senior center to see if they have a list of contractors who offer special discounts for senior citizens.
