Training Jack Russells

Can anyone help me regarding a jack russell?

he is about 7 years old and he is a rescue dog, he has settled in with us now but on leaving the house with him or on returning when i take me coat off on etc or even when i am walking up to my sons school and tie his lead by the school gates just to walk my son to the entrance he goes mental… he just goes ballitic does anyone know how i can stop him doing this as he only does it on those occasions?
nope i mean ballistic its not excitment!!

It sounds like he's afraid you're going to leave him, which is a normal fear for a shelter dog. Kudos to you for saving him from a shelter, but like many shelter dogs, this one's got issues. It seems like he's pretty new to your family, so it may just take some time before he realizes that just because you leave him doesn't mean you're never coming back. Do you ever take him with you for rides in the car? It may be that he is afraid for what will happen to you when he's not around to protect you. A ride around the block in the car every few days might help put his mind at ease until he calms down. Jack's are loyal and protective, and it sounds like he was in a home that wasn't very loyal to him in return.

Good luck

How do I remove Yellow Stains from Dog’s coat?

I just Adopted a Jack Russel/Border Collie mix, a few days ago she was extremely Dirty when I first brought her home I bought a Baking Soda Shampoo from Petsmart to bath her with I had to bath her like 8 times before she finally rinsed clean, But her coat is almost solid white except for a few brown spots, Some parts of her coat are a yellow color, what is that caused from? and how do I get it off?

If it is on her back legs or her butt - she could pee peeing on herself. Also, her littermates could have peed on her, and stained her fur. After awhile they learn to squat better.

The breeder should have washed them regularly, so this may not be the case. Otherwise, just rinse her backside in water when it starts to get bad.

Don’t use lots of shampoo - dog’s don’t need to be fully bathed more than once a month!

If it is pee - after awhile it will fade away.

How to wire a Phone Jack?

I have an older phone jack, with ONLY the yellow, black, green and read wires; NONE of the newer blue/white, orange/white, etc. Along with the 4 wires, are three thick wires in a black coating. I have tried hooking together the wires "green tip with green ring, red tip with red ring, black tip with black ring, and yellow tip with yellow ring" but when I plug in the phone there are no dial tones. The other phone jacks in the house are wired this way and they work, so I suspect the thick black wires are important. Please tell me the exact procedure (with tons of details) in how to wire the phone jack so it works correctly. I have searched the net already and phone numerous site that provided no help. Please provide as much help as you can. Thank you.

Hi there, If you only have one line, you only will be using two of the wires, normally the red and green, but most importantly, what pins they go on, which would be pins 2 and 3, depending on your jack, your probable have 4 places for wires, like I said if you only have one line, you will only be using 2 of them. Typically the 3 thick wires with the coating are wires coming into the house, , mostly on older houses, its your 2 wires I was talking about and a ground. if this jack never worked, it could be disconnected at another point in house, or was it attached to maybe another line at one time? if add onto your question if I can help more… Sometimes diagnostics can be tricky because if you dont know the history of the house, that jack could have been added in as an extention from another jack somewhere else in the house.

what is the difference between the 3 kinds of coats on a jack russell terrier?

Smooth Coats- a coat that does not have trace hairs on the head, face, legs, or body. A smooth coat does not require any alterations to be ready for the show ring. The coat should not be sparse or soft - it should provide protection from the elements. It is double coated.

Broken Coat- a coat that is very similar to a smooth coat but has trace hair on the head, face, legs, or body. A broken coat needs minimal alterations to be ready for the show ring. They will generally only require a quick tidying up. A broken coat should not be soft - it should be harsh to provide protection from the elements. Brokens are double coated.

Rough Coats- a coat that has excess trace hair on the head, face, legs, or body. The hair is longer than on a smooth or broken coat. A rough coat requires more alterations than a broken coat to be ready for the show ring. A rough coat should not be soft or wooly - it should be harsh to provide protection from the elements. Roughs are double coated.

Trace Hair- uncontrollable lengths of hair that does not lay close to the body.

I've shown, worked, and studied Jack Russell Terriers for 9 years. We breed Jrts. Currently we have 6, but we've had way more.

Our current Jrts:

Daydream Truman - Smooth Coat.
Rebely Yelp Storm- Rough Coat
Mouse- Broken Coat
Zi's Magic Dream- Broken Coat.
Krystal Kourt Scootin' Scamper- Broken Coat
Krystal Kourt Laffy Taffy- Smooth Coat

Personally, I prefer the brokens.

Hope that helps! xD Have a nice day!

What kind of coated material is it of a Car (Pantograph) Jack?

This material should have a good wear and it's a bit shinny on the surface. It is to prevent water and scratches.

Normally just cheap paint, but sometimes they are powder coated which is a bit more durable.
