Those Mexicans will jump anything! I once saw a stray pup that turned out to be part Chihuahua and part black Lab! The Akita was probably the mother in your case.

We just got a puppy about a month ago. We were told that she was a purebred Chihuahua, but as she gets bigger, it is obvious that she is not just a Chi. I’ve noticed some traits that are not Chihuahua, and to me, they point to Jack Russell. Here are some
She has long, thick legs/paws. Her feet are a lot longer, and bigger than our full-grown chihuahuas.
She has A LOT more energy than typical chi puppies.
Her ears will not stand up. Her ears should have gone up over a month ago, but they refuse to stay up, even if we hold them up.
She chews more than any chi that I’ve heard of.
She’s bigger than she should be at her age. She is 4 1/2 months, but is already bigger than our adult chis.
She doesn’t bark. (this doesn’t point to Jack Russell, but it’s something I’ve noticed)
Her tail is longer and thicker than normal.
Her head shape is flat, and her snout is long.
There are more, but I can’t remember them all. Here’s a video I just took of her. (it’s bad quality, but it’s a phone cam!)

We didn't get papers. We only paid $100 for her. It's not a huge issue if she's a mix, it's just something we'd like to know. We got her from someone who got her from a vet. The vet seems very unreliable.
She is definetly mixed. But cute as can be.

First off don't let your your dog eat houseplants or outside plants except grass as many are very poisonous. As for eating grass dogs eat grass for the following reasons: the have an upset stomach so by eating the grass it causes them to throw up expelling what is in the stomach that is making the not well. This is because grass has small barbs on it that irritates the stomach lining and the stomach tries rid of the irritation which makes the dog throw up. The other reason is your dog is lacking some vitamins/nutrients in their diet and find it in their grass. You can its this reason if they eat the grass and chew it more and longer and they don't throw up. To help solve this problem is feed your dog raw or canned green beans. This is what my vet told me and I do it to my 2 dogs. They love the green beans. Hope this helps.

I had a Chihuahua and loved her to no end. I then had a Jack Russell but due to circumstances had to let him go. I have the opportunity to get a Min Pin with training. I only want to commit to it long term so really looking into it first. Would the Min pin be similar to the Chihuahua or more spunky like the Jack? Any info would be apreciated. Thanks
I had a Min Pin. He was given to me because the owner could not take care of him any longer. His name was Slylar and he thought he was a big dog. He was playful but not like a Jack Russell. He was very easy going. If I could I would get another one in a heart beat. He got along with other dogs. He was protective but not to the point where he could not be around other people and animals. He was very smart too. I would def. get him/her you wont be disappointed in the breed.
Skylar had a brother named Randy(Boston Terrier) they would play together but Skylar was the boss when he had enough we went to bed and Randy knew that play time was over. It use to be Randy's bed but Skylar took it over and Randy was ok with that. I also had cats with Skylar. He was fine with cats also. They left each other alone basically.

Hey, I am probably adopting a 12 week old jack russell/ chihuahua mix from the ASPCA i am wondering if they are and also im not sure should i get male or female need more help!! i have until wensday afternoon to decide….also the puppy is a tan puppy and a girl and i need help m aking up a name for it thankssss
I have a Jack-Chi (Jack Russell/Chihuahua). She is 8 months old and I got her when she was 6 weeks old. They are amazing dogs, but can be a handful for first time owners. Don't get me wrong, I wouldnt pass up the opportunity of gettin the puppy. They all can end up looking very different. Most have a Jack body and a Chihuahua head, but my puppy is small like a Chihuahua and has a Jack head (floppy ears and all). Shes adorable!
Surprisingly, she loves other dogs too (both chihuahuas and jack russells usually dont do well with other dogs outside their own breed) She also doesnt bite or get possessive like most chihuahuas. She does have a lot of energy, but since they are small, they get most of their exercise playing inside. They are really great dogs. She has the instincts of a Jack and burries her treats in the couch.. its soooo cute!
All I would suggest is to try and walk the dog for atleast 20 minutes a day, weather permitting (no extreme heat or cold). This will prevent unwanted hyper activity (which never really gets bad).
I have a tan female and full grown she is 8 lbs. Boys usually get bigger so if you want one larger than 10lbs get a boy. The good thing about girls tho is that they dont mark their territory, so they wont go pee when they smell another dog.
O and mine is named HUNNIE
I would go for it… If i had the chance, I would get another. Its not really often that you find Jack-Chis, so dont pass it up!
